Richard Crossman - Organist and Choir Master
Richard Crossman is a man of many talents, each one fueled by a deep passion for the arts and a lifelong dedication to his community. As the organist and choir director at Emmanuel United Church, Richard has woven music into the fabric of worship and service for nearly three decades, marking 33 years of heartfelt leadership in January 2025. His journey began in 1975, and since then, he has touched the hearts of countless congregations across seven churches.
Richard's love for music extends beyond the walls of the church. He has conducted both church and community choirs, including the esteemed Halton Regional Police Choir, and is the founder and music director of The Baker Street Victorian Carollers, a group he has led since 2004. His voice has graced dozens of concert stages as a vocal soloist, and for 30 years, he has performed in musical theatre and opera productions throughout the Greater Toronto Area, enchanting audiences with his talent and presence.
But Richard’s artistic gifts don’t end with music. As a skilled chef, baker, and pastry chef, he blends creativity with precision, delighting those lucky enough to enjoy his culinary masterpieces. His versatility extends to the stage, where he has acted in numerous productions both on-camera and live. In the past six years, Richard has ventured into the world of voiceover work, lending his voice to medical narration, corporate training, animation, audiobooks, and commercials—each project an opportunity to explore new dimensions of expression.
A master of costume design and creation, Richard has contributed to numerous film, television, and stage productions, including the creation of nearly 50 Santa Claus suits for people across North America and the UK. His work in the world of theater and film is a testament to his meticulous attention to detail and boundless creativity.
