History of Emmanuel United Church

Emmanuel United Church has been a beacon of faith, hope, and community since its establishment in 1963. Founded with a vision of creating a welcoming space for worship and fellowship, the church has faithfully served its congregation and the broader community for over six decades. From its humble beginnings, Emmanuel United Church grew steadily, rooted in the love of God and the desire to support and uplift those who walked through its doors.

In the early years, the church quickly became a gathering place for families, a sanctuary where people of all ages could come together to pray, sing, and support one another. Through the years, its congregation has been a vibrant, loving community—united not just by faith, but by a shared commitment to love and serve one another.

The church has always been more than just a place of worship; it has been a place where friendships are formed, milestones are celebrated, and support is offered in times of need. From baptisms to weddings, memorials to weekly services, Emmanuel United Church has been there for every important moment in the lives of its members.

The congregation has grown and changed over the years, but the core values of kindness, service, and faith have remained steadfast. Each generation has brought its own gifts and energy, and together, they have built a church family that extends beyond its walls—impacting the wider community through outreach, kindness, and acts of service.

Guided by the leadership of dedicated ministers, including our current minister, Tessica Hackshaw, Emmanuel United Church continues to be a place where people are welcomed with open arms, where faith is nurtured, and where love for one another and for God is the foundation of everything we do. We are proud of our rich history and the many lives that have been touched by this church, and we look forward to continuing to grow together in faith and love for many years to come.
